When the dialogue box appears you will need to select the xls file on which you were working. When you will open the .xls file, a dialogue box will appear with the Revert to Saved Document message. You will need to click on the option Ok. This will display the last saved version of the file you lost.
You can recover your .xls file by trying to save it to MS Word or WordPad. If you want to open the worksheet on MS Word you will need to have the MS Excel converter installed on your system. Now try to save the file in Word pad or MS Word. If you can open the file in Word you can recover all the text and the figures correctly. You can also use MS Excel Viewer or other procedures to recover the lost excel sheet data.
