You can recover your .xls file by trying to save it to MS Word or WordPad. If you want to open the worksheet on MS Word you will need to have the MS Excel converter installed on your system. Now try to save the file in Word pad or MS Word. If you can open the file in Word you can recover all the text and the figures correctly.
